AIRCOM Wins Contract For Vinaphone’s GSM 900 Network

World renowned mobile phone network strategy and implementation consultants, AIRCOM International, have been announced as the winners of Vinaphone’s new network upgrade contract.

The contract is to redesign, boost, and expand the current Vinaphone GSM 900 network across 27 provinces, the capitals of the provinces, and along the entirety of Vietnam’s national highway, totaling a whopping 1212 macrosites.

Vinaphone’s desire to update their network was made public when the company opened commercial bidding for the contract.

AIRCOM is set to furnish Vinaphone with their normal suite of consultancy, from network planning to on the job training.

Vinaphone have said that AIRCOM were a clear cut above the other bidders, mainly due to quality of service and AIRCOM’s tenacious business approach.

Regional MD for Asia at AIRCOM, Nick Brown, spoke about the company’s delight at having won the contract and the chance to collaborate with the expanding Vinaphone again.

He went on to say that, as the companies have worked together in the past, the partnership should be highly successful.

Brown also stated that, to be selected to work with Vinaphone again, shows the quality and reliability of services provided by AIRCOM in the past.

Vinaphone currently has over 8 million subscribers throughout the country, and is a subsidiary of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Corporation.

In an effort to increase the company’s client base, Vinaphone have chosen to expand their GSM network to encompass the entire nation.

This will require 5,000 base transmission stations (BTS) to be installed, brining their total to 9,000 BTS before the turn of the year.
